Betty Lou Jeuell
Born: July 29, 1944, Wilmington, DE
Married: Arthur Edward Whittaker Jr. August 2, 1969
Graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, Wilmington, DE in 1962. Attended
the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware and received her BS degree in
Early Childhood Education.
She went to work in the Wilmington School District where she taught
Special Education for 3 years. She was recruited by the Stanton school district
where she continued teaching special education students at the Meadowood School.
She left teaching to stayed home with her children. When her youngest was in second
grade she took a position in the Pre-School at The Tatnall School, in
Wilmington, Delaware. She remained there for 12 years.
She then took a position as Assistant Director at The Longwood Learning
Station, in Kennett Square, PA. This was a pre-school and day care center.
After 3 years she retired.
One of her hobbies during these years was needle work.
